Calculation Engineer in Structural Analysis

Your Role

Take the chance and apply to the business unit Missiles in Karlstad and become our new calculation engineer! As a calculation engineer in structural analysis, you will be part of the section's team working with calculations, design, and environmental durability.

You will become part of the analysis team and collaborate with other specialists and several engineers from different disciplines. You will be involved in the work of elevating new technologies to new levels and implementing them in our future products. You will have the opportunity for personal development both in depth and breadth.

Your primary task as a calculation engineer in structural dynamics and strength analysis is to ensure the product's compliance with requirements regarding its structural mechanical properties (mechanical environment, robustness, etc.). You will do this by modeling and analyzing the loads that occur during various events throughout a product's lifecycle. The position involves both internal and external contacts.

The calculation work includes both static strength calculations and fatigue calculations, structural dynamics, and in some cases, weld evaluation. The section also conducts various methodology and technology development projects that you may become involved in as part of your work.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented and has an easy time communicating and collaborating. We believe you are a Master of Science in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Physics with a focus on calculations, or have an education/experience deemed equivalent or higher.

You are well acquainted with tools such as Ansys, Matlab, and LS-Dyna, or have knowledge of equivalent tools.

As a person, we see that you have an analytical approach and that you are proactive in your work. You take initiative and responsibility and can work both independently and in a team.

Since we collaborate with both local and international suppliers as well as colleagues from different parts of the organization, fluency in Swedish and English is a prerequisite for being able to work effectively and maintain high quality in our processes.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, there may, in some cases, be requirements for certain citizenship.
